Principal's Welcome
Meadow Bridge Primary School opened in September 2003, as an amalgamation of St James’, Maze, and St John's Primary Schools.
Our school is a place where a love of learning is fostered. Children are introduced to a range of thinking skills which enable them to enjoy becoming independent learners.
Meadow Bridge is very much focused on Child Centred Education. In any classroom of children, there will be many different learning styles and many different personalities. Each one of our children is unique and we give careful consideration to providing the best learning environment and best teaching methods for each child in each class.
We place a strong emphasis on developing the ‘whole child’, through involvement in sport, music and drama and a variety of after-school activities, enabling our boys and girls to have fun and develop new skills. Meadow Bridge is an Eco-School and a Forest School and the children enjoy outdoor learning opportunities. They are encouraged to respect and protect their surroundings and the environment. We encourage our children to be the best that they can be, to be a good friend and enjoy the friendship of others, remembering that kindness and good manners matter. When our children transfer to post-primary education, they leave well-prepared and ready to build on the knowledge and skills they have gained during their time with us and we encourage them to continue to hold tightly to our Meadow Bridge values.
Partnership with parents is greatly encouraged and enjoyed as we work together to nurture the children entrusted to our care. It is with team effort and parental support that we can enable the children to reach their full potential. At the heart of Meadow Bridge is a strong sense of community. Our PTA organises a variety of events and activities throughout the year which are greatly enjoyed by pupils, parents, families, and staff.
To assist parents, we have a Breakfast Club which is available from 7.40 am and After School Care provision until 6.00 pm.
